Traduire Document uses machine translation, guided by the usage rules of Quebec French or France French. For most business documents, you get a clear version to read over before you send it. Quebec French, or French from France
Into French, the translation follows Quebec usage by default. For readers in France, choose French from France: vocabulary and typography then follow usage there.
- Quebec words
- Courriel, fin de semaine, stationnement, cellulaire. No France French term where Quebec has its own. In French from France, these become e-mail, week-end, parking and portable.
- OQLF spacing
- A no-break space before the colon and the $ sign, and inside « guillemets ».
- Amounts, Quebec style
- $1,250.00 becomes 1 250,00 $. And the reverse into English.
- What stays put
- Numbers, dates, emails, links and phone numbers are protected before translation and put back as they were.
- Names
- The translation is told to keep names of people, businesses and streets as they are. Check them anyway, or add them to the glossary to be sure.

Read in memory, then gone
Our servers read your file in memory to translate it. It is not written to disk and it is not kept after the job. Our logs do not contain file contents.
Text sent for translation
When translation of your own files is on, an artificial intelligence service processes the text: Anthropic, in the United States. Under its terms, Anthropic does not use it to train its models, and deletes it within 30 days (except for the cases described in the policy). Before sending, emails, numbers, amounts and dates written in digits are replaced by markers. Names are sent. Before payment, only the first page is sent.
During payment
Your browser keeps a copy of your file on your device, to finish the translation when you come back from Stripe. It is deleted after the download, or on your next visit after 24 hours.
No account, no tracking cookies
No sign up, no email asked. Payment happens on the Stripe page, which emails you the receipt.

Is this a certified translation?
No. It is a machine translation, not a certified or official one. For a legal, medical or official document, have a translator or another qualified person review it.
How much does it cost?
Seeing the first page translated is free. The price depends on the length of the document. It is shown before you pay, in Canadian dollars, US dollars or euros depending on your country. It is a one-time payment, no subscription.
Which files are accepted?
Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), Excel (.xlsx) and PDFs that contain text. Up to 4 MB and 20,000 words. Old formats (.doc, .ppt, .xls), files with macros and password-protected files are refused.
Why does my PDF come back as Word?
A PDF is not made to be edited. We read its structure (headings, paragraphs, lists) and give you an editable Word document. Images and tables from the PDF are not carried over.
Do you keep my document?
No. Our servers read it in memory and do not keep it after the job. No account is created.
What if I'm not happy with the result?
Write to us within 30 days of your purchase. We refund you in full.
Will names be translated?
The translation is told to keep them as they are, but check them. To be sure, add them to the glossary, one per line.
